This basic basement club’s excellent nights make it well worth risking your new white trainers for. Fridays mean stomping northern soul, Motown and always the best rock ’n’ roll at the Rock + Roll Bar. On Saturdays, the Boon Army faithful pile in for indie, dance and disco courtesy of ex-Inspiral (and current Xfm plate spinner) Clint Boon. Get there early – it sells out every week.

South is a true hidden gem of central Manchester. Between Panacea and The Venue, it has Dave Haslam's 'Another Planet' Indie and dance night every Friday and Clint Boons Disco Rescue every Saturday.
They finally replaced the dingy toilets with shiny new ones recently, and have been getting some hot guest DJ's like Terry Hall ex of Specials and Chips with Everything DJs.
I was there last Friday and had a brilliant night, dancing and drinking the northern way! Posted on Sep 12 2007 18:20
