A favourite with visiting bands and celebs, the Mal is a first choice for those who like to think of themselves as possessors of style. The old Joshua Hoyle textile mill recently received a £1.8 million facelift, introducing a dark-toned red, brown and black colour scheme to many of the suites. The star of the new line-up is the seriously sexy Moulin Rouge room; the freestanding bath in the lounge takes around 30 minutes to fill, such is its depth.
