Originally a textile warehouse, this Grade II-listed building now houses 148 hotel rooms, a conference centre and a bar and restaurant. The corporate feel is softened by exposed wooden beams, bare brickwork and quirkily shaped rooms, while photographic reminders of former occupier Granada TV – now based across the road (Coronation Street actors can sometimes be found in the bar here) – line the mezzanine gallery off reception. Nice smellies.
