Fletcher Moss Gardens

Wilmslow Road, Didsbury

Donated to the public by the eponymous Alderman Moss in 1914, these lovely gardens – nestled in the suburbs across 21 acres – are notable for their rare and unusual plant species that bloom throughout the year. A nature trail winds through woods before opening out onto the Mersey river, but the real draw is the tiered rock and heather garden overlooking tennis courts. A tiny teahouse opens sporadically (afternoons only) for tea and ice-cream.
