Enjoying the timeless publicity of a mention in an Oasis song (Mr Sifter in ‘Shakermaker’) this small second-hand record shop emits a high-pitched whistling noise that only obsessive collectors, generally young men in studenty jackets, can hear. Not that ‘normal’ people won’t find anything great – Sifters has everything from Loretta Lynn to Les Negresses Verts – it’s just that they’ll need sharp elbows to snatch up that rare Nirvana import.
