A large, friendly drinking den with an under-utilised basement, the Rampant Lion was functioning as local boozer and student oddity until the team behind Cord and Centro moved in to sort things out. It now features cool club nights, gigs, occasional barbecues and more. It’s a safe bet for a relaxing stop-off if you’re passing and fancy a quick pint, but when there’s an event on it becomes a destination proper, justifying the cab fare out of town.
