Arden Arms

23 Millgate, Stockport

This traditional 19th-century coaching inn has won awards for its ale and ambience. The Arms has everything a good pub should – great food, friendly service, real fires for the winter and an alfresco area for the summer. The owners previously ran a restaurant and, on top of hearty lunches, do a blinding Sunday roast. Beer comes from the local Robinson’s Brewery.

    Whenever we can grab the opportunity, my wife, Christina, and I get over to the Arden Arms. A real treat with fantastic lunches, great desserts, a proper pint and a lovely atmosphere. Kids welcome too. Just been in fact. I can't recommend it too highly!
