Built in 1926, this is a long, narrow Robinson’s pub, and one of several in Stockport town centre that have made it into CAMRA’s Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors (the nearby Queen’s Head is another). There’s a snug, a vault and a comforting amount of wood and glass. The food is traditional pub grub, with huge portions followed by a small bill. You can sometimes smell the beer at the nearby Robinson’s brewery.
