Inner Sanctuary Spa

112 High Street

Since it shifted from its Oldham Street loft, Inner Sanctuary’s treatment menu has expanded quicker than a Christmas day waistline. It offers everything from a ‘detox box’ to colonic irrigation, and from therapeutic soaks to a hydro pool with eight different massage settings. Excellent sports massages for aches and sprains, plus hypnotherapy, life coaching and the more usual facials, manicures and pedicures are also available.

Totally agree with Julie farraday. The reception staff is very rude (no matter on the phone or in person). If you want to feel welcome from the start, please don't go there as I am sure you can find many higher quality alternatives at the city centre with the same or even lower price. Who let the owner loose on reception?
I felt so sorry for the therapists at this spa as the owner (yes you did hear me correctly) was one of the most rudest people I have ever come across.
Jennie Lawrenson's customer service and professionalism are just abysmal! I came in for a relaxing treatment only to be greeted with a miserable woman (owner) who was having a heated debate with a client who wanted some kind of refund. (I can see why) She was rude to her staff in front of me and seemed to blame them for her lack of timing and preparation.
To be honest I was greeted by my Therapist Gosia, who was a delight and I was only relieved to see that she was not taking her customer service skills from afore mentioned owner. The massage was good and yes very relaxing.
It was just that the start to my treatment left me with a very bitter taste in my mouth. I was shocked to later find out that it was the owner sat on reception.
In this current climate I would have thought customer service would have been at it's highest level. Maybe she has had to make cutbacks and get rid of the receptionist? who knows? but she must be throwing away business with an attitude like that! Posted on May 23 2009 14:43

Great Value for money! This place is FAB! It's just undergone a major refurb and the place now looks the part. I've been coming to this spa for over 2yrs now, I must admit that things did slide for a time, but I understand the original male General Manager is back & hired a whole new crew and things are back on form. Place looks smart, staff are friendly and more than helpful. They have had the pool, steam room & detox box removed and had 2 new treatment rooms built. And frequent great offers with 50% off most treatments! Just what everyone needs with this bloomin credit crunch! Posted on Nov 24 2008 18:23

Well I have visited on at least 5 ocassions and have not been disappointed, albeit I have been for the same treatment each time so have not had a holistic experience. I do agree that the staff need some customer service training but on one visit I did use the detox box and was told when to come out. I am talking of the new site though in the Northern Qt. Was your exp at the old site in Oldham? I have even recommended the place to others and besides the usual CS complaints they were also pleased with their visit. It's always rubbish though when you look forward to a great time and end up having a bad experience. Especially on such a memorable occassion as your hen night. Hope all your other plans went well though and congrats on your marriage. Posted on Oct 25 2008 13:20

The Inner Sanctuary Spa was a disappointment from start to finish.
The place is tiny there is no where to get changed or leave your personal belongings plus they move your stuff if they need to use the room for a treatment.
The staff are incompetant and have no First Aid experience which is disgraceful considering their risky environment.
The steam room was dirty the towels smelt damp and the whole place has no cleaning system .... no shower gel and one was full of mud and they simply couldnt be bothered to clean them . There are no water machines ......the list goes on.
Health and Safety is apauling from loose stairs to not telling you when to leave the detox box - they will leave you there all day !!! so use your own judgement.
Please don't waste your money I went with 8 friends for my hen party and was angered at the sheer stupidity of their staff .... there is no excuse for laziness especially when it jeperdises safety - which it did! Posted on Aug 11 2008 10:50
