Plush but unpretentious, the oddly named Mint Hotel (previously known as City Inn) has possibly the best location for commuters: it's just a short walk across a pedestrian bridge from Piccadilly Station. All 285 rooms come with iMacs, power showers and flexible check-in/out, while a decent terrace restaurant, cocktail menu and occasional art exhibitions also help to make it one of the city's better new hotels.
