This family-friendly playground of vintage technology is set among the converted remains of the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station. Recently refurbished to the tune of £9 million, MOSI's highlights include a children's interactive gallery (where kids can lift up a car or play with a tornado machine), the huge Power Hall of thrusting, steaming turbines like something from the feverish dreams of Brunel, and the Air and Space Hall, featuring a pantheon of airborne greats including a colossal Shackleton bomber.
