Partly trading on the success of its big brother across the road, this tiny Italian restaurant is tucked unobtrusively into the corner of a 175-year-old department store. Discreet waiter service and marble-topped tables contrast nicely with an informal tapas bar that runs one length of the L-shaped eaterie; both serve small Italian dishes such as lobster ravioli, breaded baby mozzarella and traditional crostini.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and frequented by well-heeled shoppers, this is a gem of a place, perfect for a post-shop coffee or dinner à deux.

I wouldn't award any stars to this restaurant because I wouldn't want to give the
wrong impression. The idea of 'tapas' or in this case, 'chichetti' is just another way in which to get us to part with money for very little in return. If you were told beforehand that the portion of spicy sausage, costing £6.50 was to consist of ONE sausage, and three wedges of potatoes and a lot of lettuce to pad the serving dish out, you wouldn't order it, would you? Total rip-off and that went for the other dishes we ordered too. Two dishes each, we were told, each one serving two, meant, in effect, that the sausage had to be divided into three, there was one parcel of ravioli each, and two tiny lamb chops on another dish, that the menu described as being cooked with chilli. Certainly didn't taste like that to me. There was a tiny sliver of raw chilli on the side, that was whipped away quickly before I could get it in time to flavour the meat. Don't go if you are very hungry, or you have a lot of money to burn. There are many restaurants near by where value for money is more likely obtained.
I agree with the comment by Susan May 19 2011. The waiters were arrogant, especially the head waiter who made a comment to one of my party that she thought was patronising.
Sorry, should have said, don't go UNLESS you have a lot of money to burn.
Lovely atmosphere. Delicious food. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am 54 years of age, and have never before have had reason to comment negatively on service in an eating establishment. The waiter was rude and argumentative. I was served a dish I hadn't ordered and bullied into accepting it.
