Aumbry is a contender for one of Manchester's best eateries - both the restaurant itself and chef Mary-Ellen McTague have won accolades. Looking like a Cotswold holiday home out front and resembling the dining room at a Lake District guesthouse inside, Aumbry's main visual appeal comes from the food itself - soused herring or roasted duck arranged as artfully as a Turner Prize entry. And, as you might imagine, it tastes pretty incredible too.
