This unlicensed restaurant off a busy main road has a tasty take on Middle Eastern cuisine, from the delightful baba ganoush - an aubergine and garlic dip sweetened with pomegranate - to the range of delicately spiced kebabs. For a small corkage fee you can bring your own beer or wine.

I went to have lunch at Petra today (Wednesday 06 June) at 12h10 to find the place closed. Why? The website says the restaurant opens at 11h30 (until 14h30) Monday-Friday. In the past, I've missed Monday lunchtimes, when it used to be closed, after/before attending MRI appointments (always on Mondays).
