The 48,000-capacity City of Manchester Stadium hosted the 2002 Commonwealth Games before being converted for the city's less glamorous but more endearing second football club, Manchester City, in 2003.
On site you'll find a club shop, a restaurant, a museum, athletics track and squash courts. Tours are available (£8.50, £6 reductions); call to book. On top of Manchester City home games, the stadium occasionally hosts big-name concerts and other events.
