Manchester Velodrome review Rate it
As the home of the British Cycling Team, the Velodrome's track is one of the best in the world, but the place still welcomes all levels of ability. If riding a fixed-gear bike appeals, hour-long taster sessions provide full kit and advice on riding the steep banking (and how to stop a bike without brakes).
'Revolution' events held during the winter season pull in crowds of 3,000-plus with a 'night at the races' combo of sprinting and endurance races, music, food and booze. Basketball, netball, spinning classes and badminton are also on offer.
