DJ Vice’s favorite Miami late-night spots

Los Angeles native Vice will kick off 2016 with an epic show at LIV, just one of the clubs he’s come to call home—you can also find him regularly at Marquee (in Vegas and New York), the Encore Beach Club and L.A.'s Create. The DJ, who scored a club hit with “World Is Our Playground” and who has worked with the likes of Rihanna and Tegan and Sara, has a soft spot for the Magic City—especially when the lights go down. As he preps for his LIV performance, we asked Vice to tell us the places he loves to hit up deep into the night in Miami.

1. E11even: It’s 24-hours, which is handy for a guy on Vice’s hours, and is known as one of the hottest spots in town for people who want a hard drink and dance at any hour of the day. But for Vice, a night at E11even (29 NE 11th St, Miami) is all about the food: “The best late-night chicken fingers, with a view!”

2. News Cafe on Ocean: Another 24-hour spot, this cafe king of Ocean Street is where the night comes to a close for Vice. “Sitting right by the ocean at News Cafe (800 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach) with a plate of breakfast is a perfect end to your night.”

3. La Sandwicherie: You will always find a mix of clubbers, drinkers, limo drivers and tattoo artists at this famous late-night haunt for the hungry (a 5am Napoli—prosciutto and fresh mozzarella—really hits the spot). And when he’s in town you might also spot Vice at La Sandwicherie (229 14th St, Miami Beach). He sums up the appeal: “Quick bite—bomb sandwich!”

4. Moshi Moshi: Sake and sushi, across two locations, available at all hours? Moshi Moshi (7232 Biscayne Blvd, Miami and 1448 Washington Ave, Miami Beach) has become the spot for a (non-fried and non-bready) pre-dawn binge. “Late-night sushi until 5am! Where else can you find that but Miami Beach?”

5. David’s (RIP): It is with fondness—and maybe a tear or two—that Vice looks back on this onetime Miami institution, which kept clubbers and graveyard shift workers fueled from 1977 until it closed in April 2014. “For all my fans of David’s cafe, I know we all miss those drunken Cuban meals!”
