Sixty Thompson, one of New York's finest hotels, has gone on vacation and landed in South Beach - and brought its art collection with it. The lobby of the Sagamore doubles as a brilliant gallery (with a rotating collection of edgy works by the likes of Cindy Sherman, Gerhard Richter and Olafur Eliasson), and provocative pieces hang throughout the hotel. It's no surprise, then, that the Sagamore houses a quietly hip crowd, and one which could not care less about the action next door at the Delano's pool. The generous, apartment-sized rooms are also a plus; for maximum luxury, there are whirlpool bath/showers in every room. The resto-bar Social Miami is an avant-garde eaterie created by chefs Michelle Bernstein and Sean Mohamed, while the oceanfront infinity pool is another work of art.
