This wannabe boutique hotel brings the South Beach party north to Mid Beach. The airy lobby ticks the trendy boxes: white walls, Starck-style furniture and arty light fixtures. On our stay, Brazilian models colonised the place for a fashion shoot. Purple corridors and a red elevator liven up the minimalism. There's a bar off the lobby where guests congregate at happy hour. The small pool hosts the odd party and the courtyard has curtained beds for canoodling. The stark white bedrooms range from tiny to sprawling, and are a bit rough around the edges (the fluorescent bathroom lights are especially unflattering). But the vibe is lively - on our stay there was a swingers' convention and there are drag shows on Sunday nights - and the staff is friendly.
