Small and chic, this chichi new boutique hotel promises to gentrify tawdry Washington Avenue. Comprising a Mediterranean revival-style building and a few MiMo knockoffs, the architecture is a refreshing change from deco a-go-go. The lobby doubles as the trendy French brasserie Maison d'Azur and much of the clientele is European. Perhaps they appreciate the tasteful bedrooms, designed by J Wallace Tutt, who did the interiors of Versace's mansion. Bamboo floors and sisal matting complement the colour scheme: cream, beige, gold and mahogany. King-size beds add a decadent touch and lush floral photographs by Miami artist Sheila DeLemos inject cultural cred. The pool is tiny, and the beach is a ten-minute walk, but guests are pleased to be removed from the riffraff.

Most surprising in quality and service!
I am still staying there... And yes it is uncommon to write a review before leaving but this place is magical.... I am European and we are always impressed by the American "customer is king attitude" but this place takes it to another level.
