Civico Tempio di San Sebastiano review

When Milan emerged from a bout of the plague in 1576, its residents heaved a sigh of relief and, to express their gratitude to God for their deliverance, built this church on the site where the 14th-century church of San Quilino had stood. They dedicated it to the patron saint of those with contagious diseases. Pellegrino Tibaldi designed the building, though he originally planned a much higher dome; if the heavenly vision of Agostino Comerio's Evangelists and Church Fathers (1832) inside the cupola makes your head spin, just imagine the effect Tibaldi was originally aiming for.
