This relatively new addition to Milan's classical music scene was built in Largo Mahler, which was appropriately enough named after composer Gustav Mahler, near the Navigli. Open since 1999, it has gone on to earn the approval of the city's music critics. The 1,400-seat auditorium is the home of the city's highly respected Orchestra La Verdi. Performances usually take place Monday, Thursday and some Tuesday nights, with big events on Saturdays and matinées on Sunday.
