Leo Wachter, who organised the first Beatles concert in Italy, turned this cinema into a theatre in 1977. Today Ciak (which is the sound made by a clapperboard at the start of filming) works with two musical venues, Teatro Smeraldo and the Ventaglio Nazionale, and tends to concentrate on cabaret and comedy - most recently a spoof Frankenstein and a tribute to the cult film Harold and Maud.
