The Art Farm in the City Birthday Parties

All little ones love animals, so why not take a trip to the Art Farm to celebrate you kid’s first birthday? Standard Art Farm Party and Farm Animal Party (geared towards kids ages 1–8 years) offer a two hour party with two party coordinators an art project, lunch of pizza or chicken nuggets and juice, plus a t-shirt for the birthday child, party favors, invitations, biodegradable balloons and all set up/clean up. At the Standard Party, little ones will enjoy music time and farm time, and at the Farm Animal Party, they’ll get to experience a petting zoo with goats, sheep, chickens and ducks. Brooklyn Craft Farm Birthday Parties

This party’s hour-long crafting session may have kids painting their own tote bags, designing T-shirts, or making princess- or pirate-themed trinkets. Parents provide cake, food and drink, while the Craft Farm staff takes care of plates, cups, cutlery, decorations, setup and cleanup. A craft activity party can be imported inside a home or elsewhere. Parties are offered inside two Brooklyn venues: Two Moon Café (315 Fourth Ave. between 2nd and 3rd Sts) and Court Tree Collective (371 Court St between Carroll St and 1st Pl), or private homes. The Craft Studio Birthday Parties

The Uptown art studio hosts a variety of crafts parties for children as young as three. Kids make funky lamps, craft studio bags, superhero capes or even chocolate houses before games and dancing. Ice cream cake, juice, balloons and face painting are included; the Studio will provide more refreshments for an additional charge. Other add-ons are available à la carte, like the “Glamour Treatment,” which includes a hairdo, sparkly make-up and a manicure ($200). Parties run for an hour and thirty minutes. Ages 3 and up.

Hiho Batik Birthday Parties

Pint-sized Park Slopers love Hiho Batik for its stylish batik apparel, which is made using the traditional method of applying waxes and dyes to fabric. But for crafty kids who want to try the technique themselves, the store also doubles as a studio and party space. Hiho can make stencils fit any party theme; guests are also invited to "graffiti" the space's chalkboard walls after their creations are complete. Anything from small pillowcases t-shirts to tote bags is fair game, which kids can pick up from the studio five to seven days later. Ages 5 and up.

Taro's Origami Studio Birthday Parties

Kids gather in Taro's well-lit studio for a two-hour exploration of the art of origami. First up: Tots use high-tech touchscreens to choose the pattern (a frog, airplane, flowers, a truck). Then, the origami software guides partygoers through the folding steps; two professional instructors are on hand to help out. Once the basic design is complete, kids decorate their paper creation with stickers, stamps and markers. A table will be set up for cake and refreshments, but you must bring your own. Guided group instruction for partygoers can be arranged for an additional cost. Ages 5 and up.
