Love all the coolest outdoor activities for kids? We do too. Madison Square Park will host fun free programming for kids from June through early fall! Here are five things you MUST do in MSP during the summer season.

1. Art in the Park

Make something cool with Studio in a School this summer! Kids can explore Martin Puryear’s Big Bling sculpture, then create their own neat art project at this weekly workshop. Oval Lawn. Tuesdays, June 7–Aug 23 10am–12pm and 1–3pm.

2. Madison Sq. Music: Concerts for Kids

Stop in for free interactive concerts that’ll have little ones dancing, jumping and clapping along! See Sprout’s Sunny Side Up on June 9, KB Whirly on June 16, Josh and the Jamtones on June 23, Father Goose on June 30, Jazzy Ash and the Leaping Lizards July 7, Sonia de los Santos July 14, Trout Fishing in America July 21 and The Not Its on July 28. Farragut Lawn (Farragut monument if rainy). Thursdays, June 9–July 28 10:30am (lawn opens at 10am).

3. Story time!

Sit in on fun story times with themes like bugs, trees and flowers! You’ll hear fun tales about nature, see the Story Pirates—an improve theater group—in action and hear classics from the New York Public Library. Oval Lawn, Sparrow Lawn. Wednesdays, June 8–Aug 24 10am–11am.

4. M.U.C.K.

Short for Madison Urban Club for Kids, M.U.C.K. offers fun workshops in horticulture and the environment hosted by The Horticultural Society of New York. Saturdays, July 9–30 10am–12pm.

5. Hit the jungle gym!

Oh…and don’t forget to visit the playground! Police Officer Moira Ann Smith Playground offers a five-foot waterwheel, life-sized tic-tac-toe, bridges, towers and more (plus plenty of seating for parents).
