A GREEN VIDEO BLOG
Twins Tristin and Tyler Casanova-Rodriguez, both 7, want to save the earth ("I'm Electricity Kid and Tristin's Water Boy," says Tyler). In addition to conserving water and energy at home, the young Riverdale residents venture around the city on weekends filming webisodes of their eco-friendly show, "Tristin and Tyler's Tales from the City" (tristinandtyler.com). So far, they've made wallets out of cereal boxes, learned why it's important to recycle plastic bottles and interviewed a Brooklyn designer who turns broken umbrellas into bags and dresses.
The duo started their broadcast career at home, conducting mock interviews with each other using a play microphone. Now, they're not only young reporters but also green connoisseurs. "Being green means never throwing stuff on the floor," says Tristin. Tyler agrees: "We have to clean our world up now."—Carly Oklye
