Those who can’t get enough of stirring, whisking and decorating­—not to mention getting ingredients all over your walls—will love slapping on a mini chef’s hat and trying a hand at one of these cooking classes. Chef Toni's Cooking Adventures

Through hands-on culinary classes and camps with occasional visits from food professionals, kids learn to make healthy food choices, then show off their smarts back in Toni's kitchen by creating farm-to-table meals like chicken pot pie soup and Florentine turkey lasagna. They'll learn about kitchen safety and healthy cooking techniques, explore world cuisines and expand their petite palates in classes ranging from quick Power Hours to three-hour Cooking Adventures or Saturday Cook & Plays. The Creative Kitchen

Toddlers and preschoolers whip up age-appropriate recipes with parents' help while learning about numbers, colors and shapes along the way. Mom and Dad can even get involved during Dinner Dates and Family Brunch classes that let the whole clan cook together. At the end of class everyone feasts on the tasty final project. Ages 2 to 5.

Dough Re Me Kids

Children work in small groups to make all kinds of (mostly savory) concoctions from scratch using seasonal ingredients from local Greenmarkets. Each Saturday, youngsters (ages 5 and up) will master the basics in morning sessions, while older kids with some cooking experience (ages 9 and up) will learn knife skills—beginning with plastic utensils and working up to the real thing—in the afternoon. Catch holiday-themed workshops throughout the year as well. Ages 5 to 14.

This gourmet Italian café and bakery hosts weekly Gelato & Baking classes on Saturdays for kids with particularly sweet teeth.
