Just because you're now responsible for a tiny human being doesn't mean you have to miss out on all the fun. You heard us, Hot Bird. So here are the great kid-friendly bars that will welcome your whole family without raised eyebrows.

Soda Bar

Back in the 1930s, Soda Bar was a favorite local ice cream parlor– since then, it’s been transformed into a favorite local bar with cheap beer on draft and classic pub fare like juicy burgers, fish & chips and BLTs. You’ll find a unique crowd of indie 20-somethings and stroller-pushers, so you’ll be in good company. A gorgeous outdoor deck for dining, vintage posters and comfycouches make this the perfect place to kick back for a beer before it’s time for your kiddo’s naptime (and yours). 629 Vanderbilt Ave between St. Marks Ave and Prospet Pl (718- 230-8393, plus.google.com)

Brooklyn Brewery

#134 we love Brooklyn Brewery: they don't just love us, they love our kids. If you book a Small Batch Brewery Tour, kids can join for free if they're under two– and it's just a $10 ticket if they're older (which includes a souvenir glass filled with craft soda or water). If you hit up a regular brewery tour and your kids are getting hungry, you can even order pizza to be delivered. We may never leave. 79 N. 11th St (718-486-7422, brooklynbrewery.com)

Franklin Park

With its 15-table outdoor space, Franklin Park is the perfect sport for an outdoor drink (or two). Beers rotate seasonally and if the kids are bored there's always the photo booth or skee ball to keep them entertained. 618 St. Johns Pl between Franklin and Classon Ave (718-975-0196, franklinparkbrooklyn.com)

Der Schwarze Kölner

Fort Greene’s favorite German restaurant and bar Der Schwarze Kölner offers craft beer and pretzels, foosball, indoor-outdoor dining space and every kind of bratwurst you can imagine. Two pointers: it's cash only and there are no kids allowed in after 9pm. 710 Fulton St (347-841-4495, yelp.com)

Mission Dolores

Judging by the bar’s extensive kids rule section under “Info and Tidbits” on their website, we’ll go ahead and say this is a popular place for moms and dads with little ones. While you’re sipping on one of the bar’s new brews (they rotate regularly), be sure to check out the back patio and board games. With 20 draft lines and one hand pump cask you’ll find it hard to leave, but don’t hang around too long…kids must be out of the bar by 6pm, no exceptions. 249 4th Ave between Carroll and President Sts (347-457-5606, missiondoloresbar.com)

Gowanus Grove

Formerly BKLYN Yard, Gowanus Grove sports a really outdoorsy backyard vibe and offers burgers, Mexican food and cups of sangria for the adults. The huge outdoor space attached to the bar offers seating/ picnic tables for families. On weekends, you'll find film screenings, live comedy and dance parties! 400 Carroll St (yelp.com/biz/gowanus-grove-brooklyn)

Habana Outpost

Habana Outpost offers traditional Mexican and Cuban food alongside cocktails and beer. Kids can hang out at Habana any time, and the bar/restaurant’s traditional Mexican and Cuban cuisines will keep ‘em stuffed while you sip a delicious drink. Habana loves families so much that they host free craft classes several times a month. During the classes, kids can make things like bottle cap magnets, nature collages and flower crowns. 757 Fulton Street (718-858-9500, habanaoutpost.com)

Backyard Restaurant and Bar

Perfect for brunching, Backyard Restaurant and Bar offers everything from French Toast Casserole to Bourbon Pulled Pork, and they also have a great craft beer selection and original cocktails (not to mention an award-winning wine list). Surprise: they also have an awesome backyard space. In collaboration with wellness, pregnancy and baby expert group Baby Caravan, Backyard now hosts “Half Pint with Your Half Pint: A Happy Hour for New Mothers” the first Tuesday of every month from 3pm to 5pm. 388 5th Ave between 6th and 7th Sts (347-227-8018, backyardbrooklyn.com)

**Please bear in mind that children are not welcome to sit at the bar itself, but at tables within the bar space.
