Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade exhibit opens at CMOM on Saturday, November 19

It's a big year for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade—the iconic procession will be gracing the streets of New York City for the 85th time. To commemorate the anniversary, the is unveiling a brand-new exhibit, "America's Parade: Celebrating 85 Years of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" on Saturday, November 19. Kids and parents can watch clips of past parades, view photos of the most popular balloons and look at original works of art from the new book (and one of our favorites) Balloons Over Broadway: The True Story of the Puppeteer of the Macy's Parade. The coolest part, though, for little ones may be seeing the original models after which the balloons were fashioned—keep an eye out for Curious George, Snoopy and Wild Thing from the Where the Wild Things Are.

"America's Parade: Celebrating 85 Years of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade" is on view at the through Jan 16, 2012.
