Time Out says

The Negro Motorist’s Green Book was first published in 1936 by Harlem postman Victor Hugo Green; it helped black travelers learn which Southern towns were safe to go to and which hotels, restaurants and businesses would serve them. In Calvin Alexander Ramsey’s book Ruth and the Green Book, his young character Ruth uses this book to survive the Jim Crow South. Come listen to Ramsey read his story and answer questions. After the reading, he will sign books in the Museum Store. Ages 6 and up.
