New York kids answer: What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving is a time for families to get together to eat delicious turkey dinners and say thanks. We asked kids in New York "what are you thankful for?"

What are you thankful for?

Lexi, 7, from the Upper West Side says: “I’m thankful for my family and my friends. And I love to read so I’m thankful for books—especially Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Ivy and Bean books!”
What are you thankful for?

Griffin, 4, from Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn says: "I'm thankful for red apples. The green ones will make you sick."
What are you thankful for?

Anya, 10, from Greenwich Village says: "This year I am thankful for a safe and warm home, and a full refrigerator. And I am really thankful for my family and all my building friends."
What are you thankful for?

Jackson, 9, from Midtown says: "I am thankful for my grandparents and uncle that slept at our apartment since Hurricane Sandy."
What are you thankful for?

Oliver, 5, from Midtown says: "I am thankful for my puppy Jedi and Friday night dinners with my family"
Emily, 11, from Murray Hill says: "I am thankful for my mom, who is letting me get a cell phone, my dad, who over-explains math problems, my sister, who listens to my problems in the dark at 11pm and is a fellow musical theatre lover, and my BFFs, who make
school survivable."

In honor of Thanksgiving, we asked city kids: "What are you thankful for?" this season. As expected the answers were super sweet: Kids mentioned their families, the fact that they were safe after the hurricane and other quirkier things like apples.
