SATURDAY, APRIL 14

Celebrate Earth Festival!
Celebrate planet Earth at this all-day extravaganza where kids can meet local green heroes and engage in environmental puzzle solving. Also on tap for the next generation are opportunities to run the museum's geothermal heating system, give the bamboo zoetrope a spin and take command of solar panels. Sat Apr 14 10am--5pm. Brooklyn Children's Museum. Free with museum admission. All ages.

Habana Works Earth Day Expo
The popular eco-eatery hosts an afternoon of family fun, including a market of green vendors and composting workshops courtesy of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Kids will also want to check out an observation hive that's buzzing with bees, a display of artwork made from recycled materials by Pratt students, and an arts-and-crafts station. Sat Apr 14 11am--6pm. Habana Outpost, 757 Fulton St at South Portland Ave, Brooklyn (718-858-9500, habanaoutpost.com). Subway: C to Lafayette Ave. Free. All ages.
