Time Out New York Kids, the sibling site and magazine of Time Out New York, is looking for a full-time Assistant Editor. Time Out New York Kids gives city parents the scoop on what to do with their kids in the city, and has a fully integrated editorial staff that works both in print and online. Candidates must be extremely detail oriented, write well, possess exemplary fact-checking skills and have an interest in local kid culture. We're looking for a self-starter who is able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
 
Responsibilities:
●    Oversee Time Out Kids events database
●    Blog on a regular basis about upcoming events, new city venues, family news and more
●    Write, assign, edit and produce articles and slide shows for the web, including holiday- and events-based roundups
●    Use Photoshop to add images to the site
●    Write and build Time Out Kids e-newsletters
●    Program channel fronts and rotate content regularly
●    Help manage the brand's social media presence on FB and Twitter
●    Update and fact-check seasonal and evergreen articles, including listings for birthdays, classes and camps
●    Work with promotions department on photo contests
●    Write and edit content for the quarterly print magazines
●    QA magazine articles that are produced for the site
●    Ensure best practices for SEO are used

Requirements:
●    Candidates should have 1 to 2 years of online experience and experience with social media and SEO
●    Knowledge of CMS, Omniture, Photoshop, basic HTML and InCopy is helpful
