Kids can get their hands wet in a shallow multitiered water table that lets them build a dam or use sprinklers. If your tots want to avoid being doused with H2O, they can escape to the two-story tree house. It features see-through floors and a secret cave illuminated by hundreds of tiny, twinkling fiber-optic lights. Other offerings include a wide selection of classes (yoga, anyone?). Purchase an annual membership for $50 and enjoy free previews of all classes and reduced playtime rates. Ages 4 months to 6 years.

Baby Moves

Open play Mon–Fri 9am–6pm, Sun 10am–noon. One-year family membership $500–$750. Open play $20 per hour per child (nonmembers), free for members. Creative play $35 per session for nonmembers; price varies for members. Each week, Baby Moves offers more than two dozen classes, like introduction to rock & roll, 3-D art, cooking, drama and piano. Drop-in creative play varies by day and can include activities like music and movement, parachute games and maneuvering though an indoor obstacle course. Open play allows students to romp in the Grand Playroom's zoo cubes and crawl through a maze of tunnels. Purchase ten open-play sessions and receive two more for free. Ages newborn to 10 years.

Children's Aid Society

The brand-new state-of-the-art gym at CAS, cleverly named the Imaginasium, boasts padded floors for babies, and slides and playhouses galore. Bright colors (the clouds on the wall look like they're moving!) and lots of open space make this new spot for kids an appealing one. Ages newborn to 4 years.

Citibabes
477 Broadway between Broome and Grand Sts (212-334-5440, citibabes.com). Subway: N, Q to Canal St; R to Prince St. Admission for members only. Mon–Fri 8am–7pm, Sat 9am–6pm, Sun 10am–6pm. This posh and pristine play space has a gym, a spa, personal trainers, a child-minding service, a family wellness center, a lounge and caf with organic meals, a children's boutique and even more. A new Scarsdale location is in the works for a March opening. The dynamic recreation area boasts a bustling kid-scale farmers' market, soft crawling and climbing spots, a tree-house-style jungle gym and big, spongy Lego blocks. Class offerings include French and Spanish language, potty training, discipline and CPR for parents. The hefty price tag grants members full access. Ages newborn to 5 years.
