There's a lot to love about New York City around Valentine's Day—with a myriad of activities ranging from heart-centric craft projects to sweets-filled baking classes, your little lovebugs will have plenty of opportunities to celebrate. Bring your loved ones along to tackle our roundup of extra-special V-day events below, then warm up with a dose of indoor fun. FIAF Family Saturdays

FIAF kicks off their winter family programming on February 8 with a musical performance of The Story of Babar (2pm), featuring our favorite fictional elephant, a special CinéKids screening of animated film Zarafa (3pm), a Valentine's Day-themed cooking workshop (3:15pm) allowing little ones to bake and decorate heart-shaped cookies, and library open house (3:30–4:30pm). Return on March 8 for a fashion workshop (3pm) with artist Sydney Albertini in which trendy tots can craft paper costumes to model and dance in at the Fashion Ball (4pm). All ages.

Valentine's Day at the Craft Studio

Stop by the craft hub on the Friday through V-Day to concoct a lollipop using chocolate "glue," candy and edible glitter (reservations required). Zombie Love

Got some little monsters who aren't all about the lovey-dovey nature of Valentine's Day? For a fun twist on traditional love notes, let your tykes tap in to their inner zombie and create valentines adorned with zombie cutouts, glitter, foil and more using cool pop-up and layering techniques. Those who don't fancy blood and brains can craft cards that impart Victorian themes and airborne, Steampunk-style imagery. Floating Valentines: A Screening of The Red Balloon
