Hot on the heels of the BPL's "Drawn in Brooklyn" exhibit comes the fourth annual Brooklyn Children's Book Fair. Featuring 38 authors and illustrators (most of them local) at tables throughout the institution's glass-enclosed pavilion, the event virtually guarantees tot-literati facetime. A scavenger hunt challenges kids to meet-and-greet—and get a stamp from, to prove it—every book creator.
Anchoring the event is a trio of readings: Author Randall de Sve recites her Mathilda and the Orange Balloon, and illustrator R. Gregory Christie shares his magnetic Black Magic. In a fitting finish, author Artie Bennett presents The Butt Book—an homage to anatomy's flip side.—Lee Magill
The Brooklyn Children's Book Fair takes place at the Brooklyn Museum on Sat Nov 13 from noon to 4pm.
