The annual mid-winter break event is chock-full of star-studded performances, hands-on crafts, athletic activities and educational talks.

Intrepid Kids Week
Public school students may have only two days off from school this year, but your brood will be excited to hear that Intrepid Kids Week still offers nine days of themed family-friendly fun, free with museum admission from February 16 to 22. From circus performances to talks on outer space and life at sea, here's what to expect at the annual mid-winter break event.
Sat Feb 16, Sun Feb 17: Under the Big Top Weekend
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey kicks off Intrepid Kids Week with sneak-peek performances of the circus's latest show, Built to Amaze, which opens at the Prudential Center on Wednesday, February 27 (1, 3pm). Families can also admire Marcin the Magician's sleights-of-hand (10:30am–2:30pm), the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus's balloon sculptures (1–4pm) and Acrobalance's hand-balancing acts (2pm). Plus, throughout the week, tykes can also find out whether they're destined for Gryffindor or Slytherin in a "Harry Potter: The Exhibition" Sorting Hat experience. 10am–5pm.
Mon Feb 18: Science Meets Science Fiction
Kids can check out performances by Gazillion Bubble Show (noon) and the Story Pirates (1pm) when they're not busy hobnobbing with Star Wars characters, the Coast Guard Atlantic Strike Team and the cast of Scooby-Doo! Live Musical Mysteries. Young scientists can also delve into today's topic with David Defelice of NASA, who presents "Blockbuster Technology: How Reel Science and Real Science Inspire One Another" (2pm). 10am–5pm.
Tue Feb 19: On Broadway
Little ones get a taste of the Great White Way thanks to performances by the casts of Annie, Cinderella, Peter and the Starcatcher and Nice Work if You Can Get It (noon). Starting at 1pm, families can meet Tony Award–winning animal trainer William Berloni and his four-legged stars. Then, stick around for photo ops with the cast of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark (2:15pm) and performances by Stomp (1:45pm) and Bunnicula (3:30pm). 10am–5pm.
Wed Feb 20–Fri Feb 22: Intrepid Ports of Call
Embark on an around-the-world journey to learn about the culture, history and people of the USS Intrepid's former ports-of-call. Kids will fold origami (Japan), collaborate on a 3-D Great Barrier Reef (Australia), compete in the Intrepid Olympics (Greece) and design a mask for Carnaval (Brazil). After completing the task at each country's station, they'll get a stamp in their Intrepid passport. Meanwhile, history buffs can learn about Rosie the Riveter (12:45, 3:45pm) and hear stories from former Intrepid crew members.11am–3pm.
Sat Feb 21–Sun Feb 22: Sports 'n Games Weekend
Intrepid Kids Week culminates with special appearances and activities sponsored by the Jets, Rangers, Knicks and Liberty. After getting their hearts pumping in an inflatable obstacle course, dribbling practice and hockey tournament, kids can play interactive games in the Coca-Cola SportsZone and learn about space poop in a guide-led Intrepid discussion (11:45am, 1:45pm). Plus, Mr. Met stops by to sign autographs on Saturday at 1pm. 10am–5pm.
