Full Bunny Contact

Critics' pick

If your family is looking for more excitement and mild terror than bonnets and pastels can provide this Easter, take an alternate approach with this quirky carnival by the creator of Nightmare Haunted House. In 2016's rendition, guests can participate in Bunny Fu Fu's Sumo Wrestler Ring (where guests will rock 40lb rabbit fat suits), a Wabbit Warrior Jousting Arena (you'll try to knock a bunny off the podium) and (perhaps the most terrifying of all) challenge some Easter Bunnies in "The Cage." You'll be trying to collect as many eggs as you can while outwitting your furry competitors, and the amount you collect determines the prize you get. There will also be food trucks, game booths and live entertainment. Normally ages 16 and up, but special family hours are available; see site for details.

Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival

Critics' pick

The outlandish haberdashery on display—ten-foot-tall hats, costumed pets, bonnets with live birds nestled inside—more than makes up for the lack of floats at this annual see-and-be-seen parade. The tradition started in the mid-1800s, when high-society ladies would promenade in their Easter finery after church, and has since evolved into a showcase for chapeau artistry. Fifth Ave from 49th to 57th Sts. All ages.
