Firefighter Appreciation Weekend

Kids rub shoulders with New York's bravest at this series of demonstrations by local firefighters. On Saturday, attend a blessing ceremony of the FDNY Fleet and cheer for your favorite firefighter-led band on the big stage, then return Sunday for the 4th annual Battle of the Bands. All weekend long, learn fire-safety tips, hear heroic tales of rescue and ogle cool demonstrations like tower ladder rescues, "jaws of life" vehicle extraction, rope slides and forcible entry; and keep an eye out for Hot Dog the fire safety dalmatian. Firefighters, paramedics and EMTs (with ID) can score free admission to the museum, while their guests get in for half price. All ages.
