Kids may have to wait a few years until they can hit up big music events like Coachella and the Governors Ball, but that doesn't mean they can't be musical festival junkies this summer. On June 11, our friends at Madison Square Park (we hosted Spring Kids Fest with them in May!) kick off the 11th installment of their über popular summer outdoor concert series, Mad. Sq. Kids 2013 with a performance by Steve Songs. The series, which runs through August 8, features an impressive list of musicians: Recess Monkey, The Rockdoves, Shine and the Moonbeans, Audra Rox, the Deedle Deedle Dees and the Suzi Shelton Band just to name a few. The best part? All of the shows are completely free.
While you're in the park, don't forget to check out Orly Genger's art installation Red, Yellow and Blue—the primary-colored walls made up of painted, hand-knotted nautical rope make an ideal spot for a game of hide-and-seek.
