Grand Central Terminal Centennial

Grand Central Terminal sure knows how to throw a party. On Friday, February 1, the iconic structure celebrated its 100th birthday with concerts, performances (we especially loved the young ballroom dancers), special 1913 food prices and the opening of a "Grand By Design," a new exhibit which explores the architecture of the transportation hub. But the coolest thing for kids may have been the unveiling of a replica of the terminal made entirely of Legos, courtesy of Legoland Discovery Center Westchester (the brand-new spot is set to open in the spring and we can't wait). Grand Central will continue to celebrate its birthday throughout the year—families will want to check out the Grand Centennial Parade of Trains Weekend on May 11 and 12. For now, though, click through our slide show to see pictures from the last Friday's festivities.
