As the film franchise's conclusion approaches, Potterheads are in need of closure. Luckily the city holds a multitude of ways for families to get their Hogwarts fix—and none of them require you to find platform 9-3/4.

Seven Nights with Harry Potter
Tue July 6--Wed July 13. Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35th Ave at 37th St, Astoria, Queens (718-784-0077, movingimage.us). Series ticket $50, single film $12.
The silver screen--themed museum will show one of the first seven Harry Potter films each night leading up to the premiere in its brand-new theater.

Wizard School Scavenger Hunt
Sat July 9, Sat July 16 at 4pm; Sun July 17 at 2pm. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 Fifth Ave at 82nd St (866-811-4111, watsonadventures.com). $29.50--$38.50.
Families embark on a search through the halls of the Met in pursuit of artwork that resembles cloaked Death Eaters, unicorns from the Forbidden Forest and even a Snape-like potions master. Ages 10 and up.

Wizard Rock Show

212-244-3633, fantasmamagic.com). $5. After scoping out Fantasma's array of magic tricks—which might rival Fred and George Weasley's stash—tweens and teens can groove to four wizard-themed rock bands. Ages 12 and up.

FREE Wand Duel in Central Park

Thu July 14 at 11am. Central Park, meet at Columbus Circle entrance, Central Park West at 59th St (hp-nyc.com).
Potter fanatics the Group That Shall Not Be Named (hp-nyc.com) lead wand-dueling lessons alongside wand duelist Charlotte Ravilla. Your kids can bring their own wands and practice with the quirky bunch, or just sit back and enjoy the show. Ages 7 and up.

FREE Potter-Themed picnic in the Park
Thu July 14 12:30--2:30pm. Central Park, meet at Columbus Circle entrance, Central Park West at 59th St (hp-nyc.com). Bring your picnic basket and copy of The Deathly Hallows to Central Park, where your brood can join the Group That Shall Not Be Named as members read excerpts from the final book.

Movie Marathon
Mon July 11--Wed July 13 at 6pm, Thu July 14 at 9pm. AMC Empire 25, 234 West 42nd St at Eighth Ave (212-398-2597, amctheatres.com). Eight films $45.
Catch double features of all the movies in the week leading up to the final film's release. The Sorcerer's Stone and The Chamber of Secrets play on Monday; The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire show on Tuesday; and The Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince screen on Wednesday. Then on Thursday, July 14, fans who are allowed to stay up late can watch The Deathly Hallows in its entirety, with Part 1 starting at 9pm and Part 2 premiering at midnight.

FREE Harry Potter Movie Release Party
Sat July 16 at 3pm. The Scholastic Store, 557 Broadway between Prince and Spring Sts (212-343-6166, scholastic.com/sohostore). Wizard-wanna-bes play trivia and create Potter-themed crafts. Don't forget to dress the part: Robes, capes and wands are encouraged! Ages 6 and up.
