Independence Day is almost here! If you’re scrambling to find something to do, we’ve got you covered. Celebrate the Fourth of July at these all-American events, which include a party on Pier 16 with great views of the Macy’s fireworks. Families can also join a children’s parade in Harlem or dance along to music by the Amigos at FDR Four Freedoms Park.
Hosted by the South Street Seaport Museum on Pier 16, this party features food, family-friendly fun and live music. Guests will be a part of the live NBC telecast of the event and will be able to watch fireworks soar through the sky over the Brooklyn Bridge. All ages.
Explore the new "Madeline in New York: The Art of Ludwig Bemelmans" exhibit. Kids can get Madeline tattoos throughout the day, enjoy a meet-and-greet with Madeline, and participate in Eiffel Tower and finger-puppet crafts. All ages.
Play games and activities at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, which educates children about important birds in the U.S. Then tag along with a Center naturalist for an informative walk. All ages.
Help the kiddos start their morning right with Yoga for Kids presented by Land Yoga. Then take a ride on a fire truck and play in the water as a hose sprinkles the entire block! The parade itself lasts all morning, at Morningside Drive and 115th Street, above Morningside Park. All ages.
Pack a picnic, play games, and listen to a live performance by the Amigos, a fun, funky folk band. The Katchkie food station will provide refreshments for purchase from 11am to 6pm. All ages.
Catch African dance performances, a fashion show, a chess tournament, a parade on Saturday (July 5), and musical and theatrical performances. All ages.
