McCarren Rink

As much as we love McCarren Park Pool, the newly unveiled ice rink that’s temporarily taking its place is just about the most exciting thing to happen to the space in a long time. We headed to Friday morning’s opening ceremony, where a ribbon-cutting with NY1’s Pat Kiernan (whom we recently profiled in our Family Portrait series), wintry treats and free open skating honored the new facility’s first day.

RECOMMENDED: Everything you need to know about the new McCarren Rink

Click through our slide show to see all the frosty fun before your crew braves the ice, and for more information, read article from last month about the new rink.

776 Lorimer St between Bayard St and Driggs Ave, Greenpoint, Brooklyn (mccarrenrink.com). Daily 11am–10pm. $8, seniors and students $5, skate rental $5. Open through January.
