Mother's Day events 2013 for New York City families

Moms and tots can take their tea with the famed Plaza resident Eloise! Guests can decorate a pink flower pot and fill it with special arrangements from the Gramercy Park Flower Shop. Fans of all ages are welcome to join in the fun, which includes pink lemonade, desserts, and storytime in the Eloise Shop. Reservations are required. All ages.

Little ones will use clay to mold unique beads and learn about patterns as they make fun jewelry for Mom. Ages 2 to 8.

Kids craft architectue-themed greetings to present to their mamas on the big day. All ages.

This art workshop for families is all about flowers and moms this weekend. (Mother's Day is, after all, just a week away.) Participants get busy making unique floral gifts, such as paper flowers or fragrance satchels filled with lavender, tied with ribbon, and adorned with buds and other natural materials. All ages.

Take Mom to the mother of all Mother's Day locales: the New York Botanical Garden. Families can pose for pictures taken by professional photographers, fly a kite, play badminton, enjoy ragtime music and try their hand at watercolor painting. (Little ones can also craft a special card just for Mom.) When hunger sets in, they can enjoy a picnic on Daffodil Hill with treats from various food trucks. All ages.
