SummmerStage Global Family Day

We were there as families from all five boroughs spent their Sunday in Central Park for SummerStage’s biggest kid-friendly event. Performances ranged from the folksy (Elizabeth Mitchell) to the eclectic (a street-theater collaborative blending Andean music, spoken word, stilt-walking and butoh dance), but the stage acts were only part of the fun: Little ones also got gussied up in Disney-fied duds for a pirate and princess costume party, before Pirate Jake and Princess Sofia entertained folks and snapped photos with lucky fans.

Scroll through our photos to spot your family or, if you missed Sunday's event, get an inside look at all of the day's action. And good news: There are two more SummerStage Family Days scheduled for summer 2013. Click here for information on Queens Family Day (July 21) and Harlem Family Day (August 11).
