It's good news Tuesday—we just got word that Danny Meyer's Shake Shack is opening a second Brooklyn location this fall. Even better, it will be located directly across the street from the Barclays Center (170 Flatbush Ave), which is quickly becoming the must-visit city venue for everything from family entertainment like Disney on Ice to sports games and Beyoncé concerts. The new restaurant will serve all of the Shake Shack favorites (burgers, frozen custard) and will use recycled and sustainable materials in its design (tabletops wil be made from reclaimed bowling alleys from CounterEvolution in Brooklyn). While the new restaurant won't be open when Barclays hosts the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Circus later this month, we are excited for the fall when families can chow down on a Shake Shack treat before attending a show at the stadium.
