RECOMMENDED: More summer activities for kids

Outdoor summer concerts are a great excuse for NYC families to post up on blankets in the grass, enjoy the music and let the little ones run around. The shows aimed at adults are often fair game if you're looking for an alfesco hangout spot, but you won't want to miss out on these seasonal concerts designed just for kids! These live performances in NYC parks and other outdoor venues are a must when it comes to free summer activities for kids. They'll get acquainted with all different musical styles and jump in on plenty of outdoor activities—the upbeat artists will even have parents tapping their toes to the tunes!

SummerStage Bronx Family Day
Families can marvel at a genre-bending performance by Latin musician, Mister G, then check out high-energy moves from Soul Street Dance and jam to hip-hop–inspired tracks from DJ Asho. Visit cityparksfoundation.org for more information. All ages.

SummerStage Queens Family Day
