Surprise Lake Camp

The campus of this nondenominational Jewish camp occupies 500 wooded acres—it's also surrounded by local hiking trails that provide spectacular views of the Hudson River. In addition to traditional camp offerings, a unique bar/bat mitzvah program enables campers and staff who wouldn't normally have a bar or bat mitzvah the opportunity to have one at camp. Camp runs June 27—Aug 19; eight-week session $7,150 (ages 7 to 11) or $7,500 (ages 12 to 15), four-week session $3,750–$4,600 (June 27–July 22 or July 24—Aug 19), two-week session $1,500 (ages 7 to 11 only), five-day "Get Your Feet Wet" session $180 (Aug 21—25, ages 6 to 10 only). Ages 6 to 15.
