Win a year of free storage from Manhattan Mini Storage
Fri Mar 5
If ever there were a contest aimed at Manhattanites, this is it: In a clever marketing move, the ubiquitous Manhattan Mini Storage is hosting its first-ever "Super-Duper-Help-Me-Unclutter-My-Apartment" contest, which is open to all Manhattan families with jam-packed apartments (in other words, all of us!). One lucky winner will snag a year of free storage (for the baby stuff that never got chucked), free storage supplies (yay boxes!) and the advice of a personal organizer. To enter, shoot a two-minute video showcasing your castle of crap and your cry for help (all submissions must include the phrase, "Hi Manhattan Mini Storage!") Then, upload it to the company's Facebook page between March 8-31. From April 1-12, the public will be invited to vote on the vids and the one with the most ballots wins. Start rallying your supporters (and stop cleaning) now!
Tribeca's Babylicious changes its name to Torly Kids
Thu Mar 4
Six years ago, Manhattan mom Carol Adams opened Babylicious in Tribeca . Now, since her customers' kids (and her own daughters) are getting older, she's decided to transform the store into Torly Kid —a one-stop shop for tots and tweens . "I had been hearing how hard it is to find reasonably priced, fashionable styles that kids love and moms will tolerate!" explains Adams. Named after her children—Tori, 8, and Carly, 6—the boutique sports a new jungle theme, including a giant giraffe-print fitting room tent in the middle of the store. Favorite lines such as Lunchbox , Tooby Doo and Appaman will all be sending her bigger sizes to stock alongside the small ones. In addition, she's creating a monthly e-newsletter called "Tori and Carly's pick." Subscribers will receive suggestions that get the stamp of approval from Adams's girls. The store will, of course, continue to sell hip clothing and toys for younger kids, as well as its popular gift...

Now if only you could get them to meditate during car rides...
